Gratitude to MRDI and Our Trainers
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to MRDI (Management and Resources Development Initiative) for offering this excellent free online course on News Reporting. As someone who already holds an MSS in Mass Communication and Journalism, I found this course extremely valuable because it focused not only on theory, but on the real, practical use of news reporting and writing.
The course structure was very engaging. Each lesson required us to pass quizzes and practical questions before moving forward, which ensured that we truly understood the topic. This approach strengthened our learning and made the training more disciplined and professional.
I am especially thankful to our respected facilitators Kuratul Ain Tahmina and Shakil Anwar. Both are highly respected names in Bangladeshi journalism, and their guidance, examples, and explanations brought newsroom realities directly into the classroom. Their teaching helped me improve my understanding of news angles, structure, accuracy, and professional writing style.
Even with an academic background in journalism, this course gave me something that textbooks often cannot — practical newsroom insight and applied skills. I believe this training will help many young and aspiring journalists become more confident and responsible reporters.
Thank you again to MRDI and the trainers for this meaningful initiative to strengthen journalism in Bangladesh.
